Role
Support the Mannin medicinal chemistry team by maintenance of analytical and preparative devices and execution of logistic functions.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Maintain devices crucial for the functioning of the medicinal chemistry lab.
- Support the organic chemists in the execution of synthetic reactions.
- Oversee and order chemicals and reagents for the medicinal chemistry team.
- Coordinate solvent and waste management.
- Manage the chemical storage room.
- Organize compound management and shipments.
- Act as a safety manager within the MedChem team.
- Prepare NMR and MS samples and organize logistics with the University of Leipzig.
Qualification & Experience
- 3 years of technical training in a chemistry research environment.
- Experience in the supervised execution of organic reactions would be an advantage.

Role
As our new Head of Medicinal Chemistry we are looking for a leader with strong organizational, interpersonal, communication and managerial expertise who motivates and inspires others to achieve corporate scientific objectives. You will lead Mannin´s medicinal chemistry team in Leipzig and combine your strategic decision-making and organizational skills to advance our small molecule drug discovery campaigns from hit identification through candidate stage.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Lead, guide and develop our outstanding medicinal chemistry team
- Design, implement and execute medicinal chemistry strategies
- Collaborate effectively with international team along the drug discovery process
- Provide strategic, scientific, and managerial leadership
- Team up with senior management
- Share partnering strategies to leverage external knowledge and capabilities
- Contribute to the overall scientific and IP strategy Curious with new and innovative tools and approaches for drug discovery
Qualification & Experience
- PhD in Synthetic Organic Chemistry
- Ideally, 10+ years of small molecule drug discovery experience within biotech and/or pharmaceutical industry, with a proven track record of scientific innovation and success in delivering leads and candidates
- Strong background in all aspects of medicinal chemistry, with working knowledge of ADME/DMPK, target coverage, pharmacology, multi-parameter optimization, SBDD and computational chemistry
